Alexander Warren Hughes, known professionally as Alex Warren, is an American singer, songwriter, YouTuber, and social media influencer born on September 18, 2000, in Carlsbad, California.
He rose to prominence as a founding member of the Los Angeles-based TikTok collective the Hype House, which he helped name, from 2019 to 2022.
Warren built a large following through comedy sketches, prank videos, vlogs, and skateboarding content on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube before transitioning fully into music.
He signed with Atlantic Records in 2022 and achieved major commercial success with his folk-pop and confessional songwriting style.
His personal life has been marked by significant challenges, including the death of his father from kidney cancer when Warren was nine and the later struggles and death of his mother in 2021.
Siblings
Alex grew up in Carlsbad, California, as one of four children. He has two sisters, Lauren and Ashley, and one brother, Grant.
Lauren, who lives in Nashville with her husband Adam Wooten, has maintained a relatively private profile while still being part of the family circle.
Ashley has similarly stayed out of the public spotlight and has been reported in some accounts to live in the San Francisco area.
Grant previously served in the Marines and appeared in some of Warren’s early social media videos.

Career
Warren began creating content early, making YouTube videos around age ten and posting skateboarding clips on Instagram starting in May 2015.
His online presence expanded significantly after co-founding the Hype House in November 2019, which helped him amass millions of followers across TikTok and other platforms through humor, collaborations, and lifestyle content.
He left the group around 2022 as he shifted focus toward music.
Warren released independent tracks beginning in 2021, including “One More I Love You,” before signing with Atlantic Records.
His debut EP, You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1), arrived in 2024 and included the single “Burning Down,” which marked his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
The full-length album You’ll Be Alright, Kid followed in 2025 and featured the global breakthrough hit “Ordinary,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for multiple weeks and reached number one in countries including Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Subsequent releases include collaborations such as “Bloodline” with Jelly Roll and tracks involving artists like ROSÉ.
In 2026 he released his second album, WILDCHILD, which continued exploring themes of grief, family, and personal growth, and supported the project with arena-level touring.
Accolades
Warren won Best New Artist at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
His single “Ordinary” earned Song of the Year and he himself received Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, among other nominations and wins at that ceremony.
He received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Additional recognition has come through chart dominance, including extended runs at number one on pop airplay charts, and international breakthrough prizes.
