Alice Rose Capsey is an English professional cricketer born on 11 August 2004 in Redhill, Surrey.
An all-rounder, she bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off-break, occasionally keeping wicket.
She represents England internationally and has played domestic and franchise cricket for Surrey, South East Stars, Oval Invincibles (later MI London), Melbourne Stars, Delhi Capitals, Melbourne Renegades and Birmingham Phoenix.
She grew up on her family’s dairy farm near Dorking, began playing cricket at the age of six at Capel Cricket Club, and progressed rapidly through Surrey’s age-group pathway.
Educated at schools including Belmont, Lancing College and Bede’s Senior School, she has combined early professional success with studies that included psychology and sport leadership.
Siblings
Alice is the youngest of five children.
She has two older brothers, Robert Capsey and David James Capsey, and two older sisters, Jules Capsey (also known as Jules Sandford) and Libby Capsey.
Robert works as a dairy farmer and has been involved in the family business, including R & K Capsey & Son in the Dorking area.
David James Capsey works as an occupational therapist at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is married.
The sisters previously ran a dairy-related business called Libby’s Larder, which closed in 2022. Libby is married to Charlie White and Jules to Alan Shaw.

Career
Capsey made her senior county debut for Surrey in 2019 as a teenager, taking wickets in her first Championship match.
She featured for South East Stars in domestic competitions and broke through nationally in the inaugural season of The Hundred in 2021 with Oval Invincibles, producing standout performances including a notable half-century at Lord’s.
She helped the side win the competition in both 2021 and 2022.
Internationally she debuted in T20Is for England against South Africa in July 2022 and in ODIs against India later that year.
She made her Test debut against India in 2026.
She has played in the Women’s Big Bash League for Melbourne Stars and later Melbourne Renegades, and in the Women’s Premier League for Delhi Capitals.
Capsey is known for aggressive middle-order or top-order batting and useful off-spin.
She has accumulated significant experience across formats while still in her early twenties, including appearances in major tournaments and series such as the Commonwealth Games, Ashes contests and World Cups.
Accolades
In 2021 Capsey was named the inaugural PCA Women’s Young Player of the Year. She contributed to Oval Invincibles’ back-to-back Hundred titles in 2021 and 2022.
She was part of Melbourne Renegades’ Women’s Big Bash League-winning side in 2024–25.
With Delhi Capitals she reached Women’s Premier League finals in successive seasons as runners-up.
England finished as runners-up at the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with Capsey in the squad.
She has been shortlisted for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
She has also recorded notable individual milestones, including rapid half-centuries in international cricket and strong performances in franchise leagues that underlined her rapid rise as one of England’s promising all-round talents.
