    Ambira High School Students To Remain In Custody For 7 Days

    Students from Ambira High school who were seen in a leaked video insulting  the Education CS  Ambassador Amina Mohamed and the  CS Interior Matiang’i. appeared before Senior Resident  Magistrate Gladys Odhiambo.

    The students were arrested in Ugunja and Kisumu after the video went viral. The investigating officers asked the court that the students be detained at Ugunja police station for a period not exceeding 7 days  for him to conduct age assessment of the boys as well as obtain the objects from Nairobi.

    The boys each agreed to remain in custody for the seven days to allow police to complete investigations before they can take plea. The police said that they were yet to take statements from the affected cabinet  secretaries.

    President Uhuru Kenyatta was angered by the videos from the boys after they completed their KCSE exams admitting to have cheated and hurling insults  at the CSs. He ordered that  strict action be taken against the students  so that they can know that they were not above the law.

    After investigations are complete the students will be charged with Exam cheating and unlawful conduct amounting to breach of peace.
