    Amparo Grisales de Tessarolo, born Amparo Grisales Patiño on September 19, 1956, in Manizales, Colombia, is a renowned Colombian actress, television presenter, and model.

    She has built a prolific career in the entertainment industry spanning over five decades, captivating audiences with her charismatic presence and versatile performances in television, film, and theater.

    Raised in a family deeply rooted in Colombian culture, Grisales has become an iconic figure known for her bold personality and outspoken nature on social issues.

    Amparo is the fourth of five siblings born to parents Delia Patiño de Grisales and Gustavo Grisales.

    Her siblings include Omaira Grisales Patiño, Fernando Grisales Patiño, Luz Marina Grisales Patiño, and Patricia Grisales Patiño.

    Notably, her sister Patricia Grisales is also involved in the acting world, having appeared in various Colombian television projects, which highlights a familial inclination toward the performing arts.

    Grisales began her acting career in the early 1970s, making her debut in Colombian television and quickly rising to prominence with roles that showcased her dramatic talent and striking appearance.

    Over the years, she has starred in numerous telenovelas, including standout performances in “Madre Luna” in 2007, where she played the lead role opposite Gabriel Porras in a story crafted specifically for her, and “The Mafia Dolls” from 2009 to 2019, portraying the memorable character Lucrecia Rivas.

    Her film credits include appearances in movies such as “Unknown” in 2006 and “Bolivar Soy Yo” in 2002, demonstrating her range across genres.

    Beyond acting, Grisales expanded her reach internationally by featuring in a music video alongside tenor Plácido Domingo for the song “La Flor de la Canela” from his 1994 Grammy-nominated album “De Mi Alma Latina.”

    Since 2011, she has served as a judge on the popular reality show “Yo me llamo,” where her candid critiques and larger-than-life personality have made her a staple of Colombian television, continuing her influence into the 2020s.

    Accolades

    Throughout her illustrious career, Grisales has received recognition for her contributions to Colombian entertainment, including the Premio Leyenda de Plata TLN for Best Lead Actress in 1981 for her role in “El Gallo de Oro.”

    In 2018, she won the Talento Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Superserie, or Telenovela for her performance in “Alias J.J.”
