Aubrey Plaza Confirms Pregnancy

Aubrey Plaza has publicly confirmed she is expecting her first child, sharing the news during an upcoming episode of the SmartLess podcast.

The actress, known for her role in Parks and Recreation, surprised hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett when she revealed, “Well, there’s a baby inside of me.”

Initially met with disbelief, Plaza repeated the announcement, confirming she is currently pregnant. The 41-year-old went on to share that she had attended a medical appointment earlier that day, where she underwent an ultrasound.

“Today was a big day. I went to the doctor’s today… I got a scan earlier, and there is a baby in there,” she said, adding humorously that her dog had also undergone a scan on the same day.

When asked about her feelings on becoming a first-time mother, Plaza said she is excited about the experience. “I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about… it just seems so interesting,” she noted.

News of her pregnancy first emerged recently, with reports indicating she is expecting the child with actor Christopher Abbott. A source described the pregnancy as “a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” adding that the couple feels “very blessed.”

The development comes more than a year after the death of Plaza’s late husband, Jeff Baena, in January 2025.

While details about Plaza and Abbott’s relationship timeline remain private, the pair have previously collaborated on projects including the 2020 film Black Bear and the off-Broadway revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea between 2023 and 2024.

Plaza has largely kept her pregnancy out of the spotlight in recent weeks, including during appearances at Paris Fashion Week. However, she was recently seen in New York City with her baby bump visible while out walking her dog.
