Belgian sports journalist Stephane Pauwels has been charged with armed robbery for his alleged role in raiding of a home in Lasne, Belgium. The 50-yer-old TV presenter in both Belgium and France was arrested as part of a major police probe into a string of incidents in the country. He is suspected of being complicit in “armed robbery with a firearm, at night, as part of a gang,” according to Wenke Roggen, spokeswoman for the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office. IAAF Council member David Okeyo of Kenya was banned from track and field for life Thursday for his role in diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars of sponsorship money from Nike for his and others’ personal use. Juan Angel Napout, the former president of South America’s football governing body Conmebol, has been jailed for nine years for his part in the Fifa bribery scandal. He was found guilty in December last year at a trial in Brooklyn, New York. The Paraguayan was convicted of racketeering conspiracy and two wire fraud charges.
