A KCSE candidate has been arrested after his English paper one on functional skills was based on a plot to kill President Uhuru Kenyatta and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale. The said student from the Elimu Bora Secondary School in Mandera East was arrested and charged with treason. The Examiners came across the paper while arranging for commencement of marking. The three Chinese nationals who were caught in the SGR ticketing scandal and attempting to bribe police officers have been denied bail by a Mombasa court. The three Li Gen, Li Xiaowu and Sun Xin were accused of attempting to bribe Officer Andrew Warui and his team with a bribe of Ksh500,000 so as to have the investigations favor them. The Attorney General(AG) Paul Kihara has overruled the directive by Education CS ambassador Amina Mohamed to lower entry point to teaching colleges to D+. One  person was left injured in Furunzi, Malindi after a small aircraft which failed to ascend high enough during take off. Former journalist Moses Dola who was found guilty of killing his wife and former NTV journalist Sarah Wambui Kabiru in 2011 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Dola, on his own admission told the court that he did not intend to kill his wife and he was sorry that it happened. Police have refuted claims by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) that people were sexually assaulted by them during the 2017 general elections . They said that no complaint had been forwarded to any investigative body of anyone that  was sexually assaulted by police during the general elections. The police have asked that any one who was sexually assaulted should report to the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) for a further probe. Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi has filed a suit in court against Daily Nation who published a fake obituary of him earlier on in the year. He has demanded that the publication pays Sh100 million for infringement of his privacy. Wanjigi said that his privacy was infringed upon as the publication published the names of his children, where they lived and schooled.
