Uber and Bolt drivers in Kenya have declared a strike over what they termed  as a push implementation of better pricing by the taxi hailing companies. The drivers said that the companies have continued to ignore their calls for better pay. The said that the two companies have refused to negotiate for better terms with the drivers. Kirinyaga woman representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has spoken up after not receiving an invite to Governor Anne Waiguru’s wedding. She however chose to give the Kirinyaga governor marital advise ahead of her big day. She told  Waiguru to guard her husband as good men were rare to find. “She should guard her husband because good men are rare to find and that’s why we jealously guard ours,” Ngirici said. The Employment and Labour relations court has ordere former KQ Boss Titus Naikuni to pay former corporate and communications manager Kepha Mareno Bosire sh 10 million for unlawful dismissal. The judge said that Naikuni was personally liable for the payment. The breakdown was Sh1.8 million as salary for three months in lieu of notice, twelve months compensation  for salary, Sh 1million for what the court considered to be undignified treatment. ‘Pimp my ride’ car wash was last night pulled down after court allowed City Hall to pull it down. The car was owned by businessman Patrick Nderitu was demolished a month after it was reconstructed. The City Hall askaris dawned on the car wash on Wednesday night at 11p.m stating that the court had okayed the demolition. The court has released State House Digital communications strategist Dennis Itumbi on a cash bail of Sh100000. The court found no merit on the the prosecutions application to detain him for a further nine days as the court said that the prosecution had failed to show how he would interfere with the investigations. Business at Nairobi ‘s City Market came to a stand still after stall owners and hawkers were involved in a dispute. The shop owners said that the hawkers had gone back to the market place yet they were not supposed to be there. The hawkers however said that they had a right to be at the market. The Ethics and Anti corruption commission Deputy CEO Micheal Mubea has resigned to take up the ambassadorial position in Ireland. EACC Chief Executive Twalib Mbarak is also said to have declined to renew the contract of Director Finance and Planning Jennipher Kimani.
