Two teachers are the latest victims of Alshabaab militants attack in a school in Mandera. The Militants hurled explosives at a staff room of Arabia Boys Secondary school. Police said that the rest of the teachers staff and students were safe but they are pursuing the militants who are believed to be behind the attack. “All other teachers and students are safe and no other part of the school was affected. Journalist Jacque Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie will remain custody in order for the journalist to undergo a mental assessment so as to be able to take plea. The DPP had ordered that the two be charged with murder of Monica Kimani stating that they had gathered adequate evidence to prosecute them. However the prosecution told the court that they had only conducted a mental assessment on Mr. Irungu and therefore requested for a deferment in taking the plea. Migori governor Okoth Obado will remain in custody until Friday October 12, when his case and bail hearing will proceed. The prosecution said that they were not ready to proceed because they had received applications from the defense and they were yet to respond. The three will remain in custody as a result of the adjournment. The governor had applied to be released on bail on medical grounds. Journalist Moses Dola have been found guilty of manslaughter for causing the death of his wife Wambui Kabiru. Dola, on his own admission told the court that he did not intend to kill his wife and he was sorry that it happened. The court established that the accused person was responsible for the death of the former NTV journalist. Five Chinese nationals have been arrested in Nairobi’s Lavington estate. They are suspected to have been in possession of material threatening national security. Police found the Chinese nationals with teargas canisters, uniforms and computers allegedly used to operate a security firm. Migori Governor Okoth Obado had made another application asking the court to released  pending his hearing and determination him on bail citing medical grounds.
