The murder of Sharon Otieno has shed the light in Migori governor Okoth Obado philandering ways. It seems that the 26 year old was not the only lady warming the governors bed. He is alsosaid to have been having an affair with his wife’s step sister  Rhoda Odie Nyakwaka. President Uhuru Kenyatta has signed the controversial Finance Bill of 2018 into law. Assenting the bill, President Kenyatta said that he will ensure proper utilization of public resources for a better Kenya. Upon taking effect from midnight, cashless/mobile money transfers excise duty will be increased from 12 per cent to 20 per cent, a 66 per cent increase. The government of Tanzania has banned advertising of family planning methods after the president had declared those who practice the said methods as lazy. ‘Those that are going for family planning are lazy, they do not want to work to feed a large family,’ President Maghufuli stated. The council of governors (CoG) have distanced themselves from Engineer Charles Kalomba who appeared on NTV’s morning show AM Live as the Lead advisor to the CoG. The DNA results conducted on Governor Okoth Obado have shown that he fathered Sharon Otieno’s unborn child. “There are 99.99% more chances that Zachariah Okoth Obado is the biological father of the donor of the DNA generated from the foetus that is Sharon Otieno’s child,” a report by the Daily Nation indicated. Police have arrested 15 Chinese nationals including underage girls suspected of practicing prostitution in Nairobi’s South C estate. Two police officers were arrested after defrauding a Malian foreigner from his apartment in Kilimani. The police officers are reported to have ransacked the house taking a few items. The police officers took $8,000 (Sh806,480), Sh83,000, three Rolex watches each valued at $15,000 and his passport. The police then took the Malian foreigner to Central Police station but did not book him. They instead demanded for another 8000 USD. The Directorate of Criminal investigations have summoned Migori governor’s wife Hellen Obado to record a statement. Mrs. Obado allegedly exchanged messages with Sharon Otieno who was later murdered in K’ordra forest. Police are also looking for a her brother Naftali Odie whom they have classified as a person of interest. It was good news for businessman Don Bosco Gichana who was released after being detained in a Tanzanian prison for the past five years. The businessman was charged with conspiracy and money laundering alongside four others including his lawyer Median Mwale. Gichana was sentenced to a five year jail term which he had already served and a Sh. 13.7 fine which he is to raise within one month before he is officially released. Governor Mike Sonko has suspended the Nairobi county secretary Peter Kariuki, the health CEC Vesca Kangogo and two other senior officials. He  claimed that there was some in subordination from the said officials after the Pumwani saga where he found corpses hidden at the hospital after he received claims that the hospital generator had been deliberately switched off causing the deaths. The National Land commission(NLC) has purchased Integrity Center building that hosts the Ethic and Anti Corruption Commission for Sh1.5 billion,despite a Sh400 million valuation of the building. The car believed to have been used to kidnap slain Sharon Otieno and journalist Barack Oduor. Police believe the black fielder saloon car that is used as a taxi in Migori was used for the kidnapping of the two.
