Migori Governor Okoth Obado has presented himself at the Kisumu DCi offices to be questioned on the murder of Rongo university student Sharon Otieno. The governor’s personal assistant was arrested and will be charged today  after the court in Homabay denied him bail. The former Kanyadoto MCA was also arrested after the journalist identified him as one of the abductors. He said that the ones who were mourning the leaders were busy dining with those who murdered  IEBC IT boss Chris Msando. The defense lawyers for Michael Oyamo argued that the suspect had been denied fundamental rights while in custody. The High Court sitting in Bungoma has issued temporary orders stopping the 16% VAT tax on fuel. Justice Stephen Riechi has ordered that the matter be mentioned in the Kisumu High Court on September 12. The petition was filed by a group of youth who claimed that Treasury CS Henry Rotich contravened the constitution and especially the Bill of rights. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has cancelled the license of the Kenya Independent Petroleum Distributors Association (KIPEDA) accusing them of intimidating other distributors. A Chinese National has been caught on camera insulting Kenyans including the President  Kenyatta referring to them as as ‘monkeys’. A report on the construction of two ferries purchased by the Kenya Ferry services (KFS) in 2015 has revealed that a Turkish company did a shoddy job therefore putting the lives of passengers using the ferry in danger.
