French rail company SNCF says at least 250,000 passengers are expected to be impacted by what the country’s Prime Minister Gabriel Attal described as “acts of sabotage” on Friday. A suspect wanted in the US for trafficking wildlife and drugs has been arrested. Abdi Hussein Ahmed, also known as Abu Khadi, was nabbed by detectives from the Serious Crimes Unit. Americans should avoid visiting Kisumu during election season, the US Embassy in Nairobi has cautioned. The embassy noted in a statement on Tuesday that there may be demonstrations relating to the election, some of which may be violent. “Out of an abundance of caution, the Embassy has imposed movement restrictions on personnel in Kisumu. A serial shoplifter has admitted to stealing cooking oil at the Carrefour, Village Market outlet. Patrick Angote Andayi pleaded guilty to charges of stealing 57 jerricans of five-liter vegetable cooking oil worth Sh104,404 on various occasions between June 5 and June 18. Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati says the issues revolving around seized election stickers has been resolved.
