Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) are up in arms after activist Boniface Mwangi shared a short video of drunk people in the back of a Red Cross ambulance. Mwangi claimed that the ambulance driver and a paramedic were ordered by their boss to fetch their son and his intoxicated friends past the curfew hours. The driver and paramedic’s sole purpose was to take the youths,at least five in number, home after a drunken spree. Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu on Friday confirmed the death of two Kenyan nationals in the UK. In a tweet, Esipisu said that the Kenyans succumbed to the novel COVID-19 which has so far infected over 2 million people, worldwide. “As of 17 April 2020, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the UK stood at 108,093; with a total of 14, 576 deaths. Eastleigh estate was on Saturday fumigated for a second time following the death of an Imam. The fumigation exercise paralysed operations in the business area which was ordered shut on Friday. Police blocked roads to pave way for the Nairobi County fire fighting engine. The number of coronavirus cases is still on the rise after the government doubled it’s testing capacity. In the last 24 hours, 1015 samples were tested, 16 of which tested positive for the respiratory disease. Of the 16, nine are from Nairobi, five from Mombasa and one from Homa Bay County, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has announced. They are aged between 23 and 84 years. 15 of the new cases are Kenyan nationals and one foreigner who have not travelled in the recent past. 7 others have been discharged after recovering from the respiratory disease bringing the total to 60.…

A Nyeri MCA was among 17 people arrested on Friday night at a private establishment enjoying drinks. Rware Ward MCA Paul Kanyari and his personal assistant were apprehended at a guest house known as Laquizine in King’ong’o. According to Nyeri Central Sub-County Police Commander Paul Kuria, they received a tip-off from members of the public. The individuals were going against a government directive disallowing nightclubs from opening over the coronavirus pandemic. Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has promised to intensify enforcement measures in “disobedient and reckless” Nairobi areas starting tonight. Activist Okiya Omtatah is mourning the loss of his daughter, Maryanne Marisyanna Omtatah. In a social media post, the human rights activist stated that his 21 year old daughter breathed her last last night after being in a coma for a week. The ministry of health has slapped individuals quarantined at various quarantine facilities with an additional 14 days. This is after the individuals, previously forced to stay another 14 days at the facilities, were found to have flouted the social distancing rules which recommend a metre or so away from the next person. In a memo from the director general for health Dr Patrick Amoth, thne affected facilities are; Kenyatta University, KMTC Nairobi-Kanu Hostel, KMTC Nairobi-MG Hostel, Kenya Water Institute and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology(JKUAT). Number of coronavirus cases now stands at 246 after 12 more people tested positive for the respiratory disease. Speaking from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the ministry has tested 450 samples in the last 24 hours. In November 2019 gospel artiste Ruth Matete married Nigerian pastor BlessedJohn Apewajoye. Theirs was a short-lived marriage seeing as Apewajoye met his death five months into their union. The judiciary will upscale operations a month after key operations were suspended over the coronavirus virus. On Thursday, Chief Justice David Maraga said the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ) was working on finding a balance between keeping the justice system and safeguarding the lives of staff members and the public. Kenya’s leading TV station Citizen TV will reportedly run an apology for a period of one week for depicting Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli in a bad light. During the 7 pm bulletin, the media station ran a report on March 22 report  whose headline read “Ukaidi wa Magufuli” which translates to “Magufuli’s defiance” in his fight against COVID-19. Siaya priest Richard Oduor has been set free on a Sh500,000 bond or a Sh150,000 cash bail after denying knowingly spreading COVID-19. The Catholic priest who  is based in Rome, Italy was arrested on Thursday last week after being discharged from the Kenyatta Hospital. A Mombasa court has freed Kilifi deputy governor Gideon Saburi on a Sh200,000 cash bail or an alternative of Sh500,000 bond with a surety of a similar amount. The deputy county boss will also be required to self quarantine for another 14 days.
