He has been incarcerated since September 2018 after he and his then fiancee Jacque Maribe were charged with the murder of businesswoman Monica Irungu. Kenya’s second president Daniel Arap Moi has been laid to rest. The former head of state was accorded a military send-off and was honored with a 19 gun salute. Military aircraft flew over Kabarak in aerial salute in missing man formation. His remains were lowered into the ground at around 4.30 pm, marking the end of an era. He was buried next to his wife, Lena, at his Kabarak home, Nakuru county, as per his wishes. Cabinet Secretary without portfolio Raphael Tuju has been airlifted to Nairobi following the early morning accident along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway. Tuju underwent spinal surgery at Kijabe Hospital where he was taken for emergency treatment. According to Dr. Ken Muma, CEO Kijabe Mission Hospital, the Jubilee party secretary general had to undergo surgery before being airlifted. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been allowed into the VIP dais at ex President Daniel Moi’s Kabarak home. The county boss had earlier been blocked from accessing the dais and was left stranded outside. The Sudan government will hand over former president Omar al Bashir over to the International Criminal Court (ICC). The decision was reached during peace talks between the government and rebel groups from the Darfur. Al Bashir is accused of fuelling war crimes and 2003 genocide that saw at least 300,000 people lose their lives. 2.5 million others are said to have been displaced. “We agreed that everyone who had arrest warrants issued against them will appear before the ICC. Four police officers have been arrested after assaulting former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo at his Milimani home, Kisumu. The incident took place on Sunday following a disagreement between the officers and Midiwo’s driver. The former who are based at Crime Prevention Unit, Regional headquarters communication, Kondele, and Railways police stations are said to have raided Midiwo’s home and later arrested him and his driver. A forensics expert on Monday told a Nairobi court that they could not identify the author of the “fake” Deputy President William Ruto assassination letter. Appearing in court was Inspector George Aringo from the DCI cyber-crime forensic unit who said that he could not confirm if Digital Strategist Dennis Itumbi authored the infamous letter. Mr Aringo also said that he could not “see” who signed the said document because it had been blacked out.
