Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has taken over car parking bays at Kisumu Airport and Moi International Aiport, Mombasa on an interim basis as they prepare to issue a fresh tender for an automated parking system. The parking system was previously managed by Mason Services Limited. As a result, parking fees have shot from Sh70 per hour to a standard Sh100 which translates to a 40 per cent increase. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has suspended Nairobi Women’s Hospital from its list of service providers until claims of malpractice are cleared. According to KRA Deputy Commissioner Mukuriah Nelson, staff members are advised to seek services from other providers listed with the authority. “Staff are therefore advised to access medical services from other approved providers as listed in the updated list on the KRA hub,” said Mukuriah. Kenyan students stuck in Wuhan, China -the centre of the coronavirus outbreak- are seeking the government’s intervention in getting them home as the “situation worsens”. Retired President Daniel Arap Moi was pronounced dead at 5.20 am, Tuesday at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been receiving treatment. Moi, best known as Nyayo, was named after his father Kimoi arap Chebii a Sot clan herdsman. He would in 1950 marry Helena (Lena) Bommet. A High Court judge has declined to issue an order barring Kiambu Governor James Nyoro from naming a deputy governor. Judge James Makau said the former county boss Ferdinand Waititu has not shown what prejudice he will suffer should the incumbent appoint a deputy. The late National Heritage Minister William ole Ntimama’s last born daughter Vivian Ntimama is dead. The 40 year old mother of three is said to have passed on on Friday at her home. According to K24 Digital, the official at the Minsitry of Foreign Affairs complained of chest pains prior to her untimely death.
