Sanda Ojiambo, a Kenyan administrator, has been named Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Global Compact. The appointment of Ojiambo to the role was announced by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The High Court in Nairobi on Tuesday lifted an order barring Mary Wambui Mungai from accessing her 13 bank accounts over accusations of tax evasion totaling Sh2.2 billion. Detectives are hunting for three men suspected of fatally stabbing a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. The suspects are said to have stabbed Joel Juma in the chest and made away with his phone and other valuables. A male politician who runs a bar in Maragua town was arrested by police in Murang’a on Monday for allegedly plotting with two female staffers to steal Sh283,000 from a reveler.
