Police on Saturday arrested eight school girls hanging around nightclubs in Maralal town at around 2 AM. According to Samburu Central police boss Abagaro Guyo, the girls were still in their school uniforms at the time of arrest. “We arrested the girls who were hanging around nightclubs. They had left their belonging in a bus and were loitering in town at 2am,” Mr Guyo is quoted by the Star. Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa is in the middle of a human trafficking investigation. The CS is said to have issued eight girls from Pakistan with special passes into the country as cultural dancers. The girls were arrested at Bella Bella Club in Parklands and according to lawyer Evans Ondieki, the girls are in Kenya with CS Echesa’s permission. Ugandan authorities have in custody a 19 year old man who allegedly abused and annoyed President Yoweri Museveni. The man has been identified as Joseph Kasumba, a pickup truck driver who transports agricultural produce in Gomba District. Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui and the county Woman Representative Susan Kihika are at loggerheads over a Sh300 million hospital rehabilitation project. Police on Friday arrested three people in connection with the brutal murder of former Kilifi County Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto. During the arrests made by officers drawn from the DCI Homicide Forensic Unit, a phone stolen from the deceased’s house maid was recovered. Coast region Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss Jospeh Ng’ang’a told reporters that the three were apprehended in Kisumu Ndogo area in Nyali.
