Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) has dismissed a petition seeking to stop ODM’s National Delegates Convention (NDC). The NDC is scheduled for February 25 and 26. DCI detectives took serial killer Masten Milimo Wanjala out of the Jogoo police station for a mental evaluation at Mathari Hospital hours before he fled, a court heard. The information was revealed in court at the beginning of a trial of three police officers accused of assisting him in his escape. A court has ordered for the arrest of Anne Ngirita in the Sh468 million NYS bribery case. Magistrate Eunice Kagure directed that the accused be held until she can find another guarantor to stand in for her. This was after one Stephen, who had pledged his property as surety for Anne, withdrew his pledge. Following pressure from the Kenyan government and trade unions, Qatar has shut down 12 Kenyan employment agencies in order to ensure better treatment of migrant workers in Gulf states. This information was revealed during a meeting in Doha on Sunday between Cotu secretary-general Francis Atwoli and Qatar’s labor minister, Ali bin Samikh Al Marri. Starch, Anand, Sunrise, Dubai, Frame, Al Adam, Absher, Al Methaq, Resala, Altaaon, and Althabat were among the affected recruitment offices. The father of missing journalist Bogonko Bosire is dead. Mr David Bosire passed away on Monday afternoon, barely a month after his son, Joshua Bosire, took his own life. Bogonko’s cousin, Douglas Kimaiga Obiria, said Mr Bosire died at his home in Kuresoi North. “Bogonko’s father died in his sleep on Monday afternoon. He had been ailing for a long time and the sickness is attributed to the disappearance of his son years ago. He developed a mental problem after he searched for his missing son in vain,” said Obiria. Residents of 42 Kianda area within Kibra were an agitated lot after a military ambulance ran over a local on Monday morning. The 70-year-old woman who remains unnamed was reportedly on her way to a butchery when the speeding ambulance run her over. Eyewitnesses said the ambulance was trying to overtake a lorry when it hit the woman, killing her on the spot.
