Nairobi City County has earmarked the popular Marble Arch Hotel along Lagos Road for demolition. The hotel is owned by businessman Mike Maina at the centre of the Nyama Villa Estate demolitions. According to a notice served by the county to the hotel management, they have been given 14 days starting December 21 to stop further illegal occupation and development of the property. The Supreme Court on Friday upheld Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua August 8 election. The court has declared that Mutua was validly elected as the governor. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has ordered for the demolition of public toilets located along the busy River road. The toilets, currently under demolition are owned by businessman Mike Maina who was earlier on in the day in an altercation with the county boss. The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB) on Thursday lifted the abortion ban on Marie Stopes, imposed last month. In a letter signed by the board chairman George Magoha, the board directed the health facility offers its services within the confines of the law. “The order directing Marie Stopes Kenya to desist from offering post abortion care services is hereby lifted and Marie Stopes Kenya is instructed to operate within the confines of the Constitution of Kenya,” he said. Four police officers have been apprehended after they reportedly tortured a civilian and later stealing Sh291,000 from them. Two of the law enforcers are stationed at Kayole Police Station and the other two are attached to the County Investigations Officer (CCIO) office. Two men were on Tuesday sentenced to death for killing a Kenyan priest in Cueibet, South Sudan on November 15, at around 2 am. Father Victor Luke Odhiambo, 62, was attacked and brutally murdered at the Mazzolari church compound by armed men, two civilians and two army men. The civilians have been identified as Chol Wieu Mabok and Tito Machiek Chol.
