A Catholic priest was on Monday shot in Kiambu’s Kinoo area. Father Samuel Muhia, who before his untimely death was in charge of Kinoo Parish, was shot in the chest by four unidentified thugs. County Police Commander Andiel Nyange said that the assailants were on two motorcycles which they used to block the Father’s vehicle. A woman on Monday set her house on fire killing herself and her two children. Rukia Wasuna’s actions are said to have been triggered by a domestic disagreement. The 26 year old woman learned that her husband was about to marry a second wife. Five Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) managers have denied charges relating to the loss of Sh1.9 billion in the construction of the Kisumu Oil Jetty. The five, Joe Sang (Managing Director), Gloria Khafafa (company secretary), Vincent Cheruiyot (GM supply chain management), Billy Aseka (general manager infrastructure) and Nicholas Gitobu (procurement manager) were charged with abuse of office, willful failure to comply with applicable procedures and guidelines relating to the management of public funds and engaging in a project without prior planning. Unknown people on Saturday night attacked Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo’s mother at her home. Agnes Njeri Kilonzo was attacked with what has been described as a machete. She suffered a cut on the head. Suspended NHIF chief executive Geoffrey Mwangi has been arrested again. Mwangi who was sent on compulsory leave by the insurer’s board, was apprehended on Sunday by DCI officers over a Ksh1.1 billion contract for provision of the integrated revenue collection services.
