A Kenya Kwanza rally that is set to take place on Saturday in Kilifi is facing headwinds. This was after the owner of the land where the “Earthquake Kilifi Edition” rally was to be held brought down the podium in the wee hours  of Friday morning. Nominated Senator Beth Mugo on Thursday lost her husband, Ambassador Nicholas Mugo. Senator Mugo said in a statement to news outlets that her husband of 63 years died at the Nairobi Hospital after a long illness. Julius Kiplagat Korir, the Principal Secretary for Devolution, has been summoned to appear in a Nairobi court for allegedly assaulting a woman. Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s first wife, Madina Giovanni Fazzini, has filed for divorce in the Kadhi’s court. Four men were on Monday arrested after they allegedly ambushed and robbed the parents of former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich. The gang broke into Rotich’s family home in Kaptich village, Uasin Gishu County, at 7 p.m., equipped with guns and other crude weapons, police have said. The robbers were armed with a pistol, 14 rounds of ammo, and a machete, according to witnesses. James Ambuso, a former finance manager at the Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA), was on Tuesday sentenced to 24 years in prison for soliciting and collecting Sh910,000 bribes 10 years ago. Two murder suspects captured in Nairobi over the weekend have been extradited to the United Kingdom to stand trial. Following intelligence leads, Mohamud Abdihakim, 24, and Monteiro Mangal, 21, both British nationals, were arrested in Kilimani on Sunday.
