Education CS Amina Mohammed has been warned by the National Assembly committee over her increased number of foreign trips instead of focusing on the Education Ministry. The National Assembly Education Committee has accused the CS of neglecting her duties and advised her to concentrate on the upcoming exams instead of taking foreign trips. “Amina must wake up to reality that she no longer heads the Foreign Affairs Ministry,”  Chesumei MP Wilson Kogo said. The late Sharon Otieno is set to be laid to rest on October 19 at her grandfather’s home in Magare Village, Kanyabala location. Her burial is going to however cost her family a fortune. According to the funeral committee chairman Elijah Opiyo, giving her decent send off will cost them at least Sh1 million. The money will be used to cater for the morgue charges, a coffin, food and refreshments. “We have not hit the target to cater for the burial expenses and we are appealing to well-wishers to assist us,” Opiyo said. Kajiado Senator, Phillip Mpaayei was on Saturday thrown out of a Churchill show recording in Rongai over the weekend for allegedly causing chaos in the VIP section while drunk. The Senator is reported to have arrived at the venue drunk accompanied by a group of friends and were causing disturbance in the VIP section. A Homa Bay county assembly clerk paid his wife Sh26.2 million for services and goods not rendered between August 2016 and January 2017. Bob Kephas Otieno is said to have had the monies deposited into his wife Everline Awino’s account. The money was wired on five separate occasions and was paid to her Nyangume Enterprise, registered on July 13, 2013. On August 18, 2016 Kephas had Sh4 million deposited into Awino’s account and only a week later another Sh1.24 million was wired to her Equity Bank account. Photo sharing app, Instagram users are facing a downtime after the app stopped working on Wednesday morning. Users could not access their profiles or view pictures of those that they follow and could only see a blank page on their phones and a message that the app “couldn’t refresh feed”. Citizen TV presenter Jacque Maribe is reportedly set to testify for the prosecution against her Fiance Joe “Jowie” Irungu. Maribe may escape being charged if she becomes a prosecution witness against her fiance. According to the Star, Jacque Maribe recanted her first statement saying that Jowie was not attacked by armed thugs but had tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest at their home in Lang’ata. Third Way Alliance party leader Ekuru Aukot held a consultative meeting with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati. The Tuesday meeting held at the Anniversary Towers was about the Punguza Mizigo initiative that seeks to reduce the number of elective seats through a referendum. Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria is unhappy with how the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) is handling Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina’s case. The senator is said to have incited the Maasai community against the Kipsigis tribe in the recent Mau Forest clashes. Nairobi county First Lady on Tuesday rescued a family that has been living in a car for the past two years in Kibra Constituency. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s wife Primrose Mbuvi came to the family’s aid after their story was highlighted on KTN. Nandi youths have sided with Deputy President William Ruto who has accused the former Premier Raila Odinga of bringing “confusion, propaganda and conman-ship” into the Jubilee party.
