Taxi hailing apps, Uber and Little are looking to expand their networks in Rwanda. Uber has expressed interests to expand to Rwanda through the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Agency (RURA). RURA confirmed that Uber has approached them and were given a list of requirements needed in order to get a licence. Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) doctors has once again been put on the spot over alleged negligence. According to a video doing rounds online, a patient passed on after a doctor only identified as Dr Zawadi neglected to administer the right treatment. In the video is an emotional woman whose mother died in the hands on young college graduates and arrogant nurses over at the national hospital. Five KDF soldiers lost their lives on Wednesday morning after the vehicle they were traveling in ran over an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED). The incident happened at around 8 AM in Lamu county as the soldiers were en route to fetch water for the residents in Lamu. Ten others were injured and rushed to hospital. A parliamentary house committee has backed the motion for the date of elections in Kenya to be changed from the first Tuesday of August to the third Monday of December. The Bill was presented back in March by Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa who suggested the new date so as to give school candidates time to start and finish their exams without interruptions. A petition has been filed before High Court challenging Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mbete Mwilu’s prosecution. Mwilu on Wednesday morning filed the petition seeking to stop her from taking a plea. In her petition, the DCJ has sued the DPP, DCI, the Attorney General, and chief magistrate of the Anti-corruption court. Through her lawyer Okongo Omogeni, Mwilu argues that “charges have been commenced in abuse of court process with the singular objective of embarrassing me.” The application challenging the plea taking will be heard before Justice Chacha Mwita. Services at Huduma Center- GPO branch were halted on Tuesday afternoon after Kenya Power disconnected electricity over unpaid bills. Citizens seeking services were faced with black out as the attendants could not help them in any way. The place services run on computer systems hence most services could not be offered. Deputy Chief Justice, Philomena Mwilu has been arrested at the Supreme Court in connection to fraud allegations leveled against her. The DCJ has been taken to DCI headquarters for questioning. Earlier today, the Judicial Service Commission, was holed up in a meeting which was attended by DCJ Philomena Mwilu as well. It is not clear if she was being grilled. Police are pursuing a fellow cop who is said to have sexually assaulted a minor at a police station. The officer who has since fled his work station at Adungosi Police Station, Busia County reportedly raped the Form Two student as she recorded a statement.
