A woman of Kenyan descent working in Dubai was murdered by her employer on 17 July. Marion Mary Machuma was apparently beaten to death by her employer, a GCC national, who later called the police saying that her African maid had fallen down the stairs. Paramedics on scene said that the deceased had bruises and signs of torture on her remains. The Director of Crime at Dubai Police, Colonel Ahmed Al Marri directed that the body be transferred to the forensic lab for an analysis. On Monday, an angry mob attacked a well guarded UN compound in Maban which is in Upper Nile State, destroyed property and made away with valuables whose worth is yet to be established. Another rhino has died as it was being relocated from Nairobi National Park to Tsavo East bringing the count to 10. The tenth of the 11 rhinos is said to have suffered from dehydration, bacterial infection and gastric ulcers just like the other nine that died a few weeks ago after translocation. A man was on Thursday morning arrested in Syokimau with fake documents. Muigai Ngugi was apprehended at his 360 apartments home where police are said to have discovered two pistols and 700 bullets. Also found were fake KeBS, EACC, NIS and Immigration identification cards. National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director Philip Wachira Kameru was being impersonated by a man identified as Moses Mungai who tried to “sort out” the Ruaraka land saga. Mungai was apparently arrested alongside the disputed land owner, Francis Mburu on Wednesday by DCI officers at the latter’s Kileleshwa home.
