A Nairobi county resident on Tuesday chained himself to the Tom Mboya statue in the capital’s Central Business District (CBD). Congolese Musician, Koffi Olomide has been barred from entering Zambia due to criminal charges levied against him during his previous tour. This comes after the Zambian Minister of National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Rev. Godfridah Sumaili warned that Koffi Olomide will be arrested if he sets foot in Zambia. Koffi was scheduled for two performances in the Lusaka and Kitwe, Zambia in July. A senior prison officer killed a third year Kenyatta University student on Sunday morning along Mombasa Road. Sergeant Dismus Gitenge Motongwa was driving under the influence when he hit Maureen Wambui Gachagua as she crossed the road. Maureen, 22, was in the company of her boyfriend Dennis Mburu Baragu and had just left NextGen Mall for home. Suspended Kenya Power Managing Director Ken Tarus had his wife bundled into a police car as officers searched for him, his lawyer has told the court. According to the lawyer, Ms Tarus’ only crime is being the wife of Kenya Power MD. The Kenya Power Managing Director, Ken Tarus has been suspended following recommendations by the Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji for the suspects to be prosecuted. Mr Tarus surrendered himself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Office on Sunday evening and was held at Muthaiga Police Station together with other suspects. Two Maseno University students were on Sunday shot and their belongings stolen as they headed back to their hostels after watching France thrash Croatia in the World Cup final. Vincent Ochieng and Eugene Ndobi are nursing injuries after they were attacked by three armed men at Nyawita Village behind the Maseno Siriba campus.
