Kenya has suspended all passenger flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in retaliation against a December ban by Dubai. Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) Director-General Gilbert Kibe told the Business Daily that the ban took effect on Monday midnight for a period of one week. Mr Kibe, however, maintained that the ban will not affect cargo flights by carriers like Kenya Airways and Emirates from UAE into Kenya. “Inbound and transit passenger flights from UAE are suspended for a period of seven days. A woman is missing after allegedly fatally stabbing her two-year-old son in Murang’a on Sunday afternoon. Nancy Munjiro, a 21-year-old single mother of two, is suspected to have stabbed her boys killing the toddler and injuring the four-year-old. 91 illegal immigrants of Ethiopian origin on Sunday evening escaped from a privately owned Kitengela home. The aliens aged between 18 and 25 were being housed in a mansion at Tumaini Court in Milimani Estate off the old Namanga Road. The second phase of the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration will kick off on January 17 and end on February 6, IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati has said. “This will be the second and final phase of the Enhanced continuous voter registration in preparation for the general elections,” he said on Friday.
