21 unregistered cars valued at Sh.30 million were on Tuesday seized by Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers in Mombasa. Of the 21 cars, 19 bore Tanzanian and Ugandan number plates and were found in Mombasa town and the other two in Lunga Lunga. Former Internal Security Minister Julius Sunkuli and his brother Charles Sunkuli, who is the Environment Principal Secretary are seeking justice for the ex-Minister’s son, the late Augustine Salaton. Mr Salaton was found dead by police in a lorry parking lot in Kilgoris, Narok County. The body was then taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary. Communications Authority (CA) in the latest Kenya Gazette Notice, made it illegal to import mobile phones whose battery life is not at least eight hours long and lacks a physical manual. The notice, which took effect on May 15 will help limit the number of fake gadgets getting into the market. Only licensed telecommunications vendors will import and distribute mobile phones which, CA says will be expected to last at least 24 hours when not in use.
