A family is in agony after their kin, a fresh General Service Unit (GSU) graduate, disappeared without a trace. Detectives sought call logs belonging to Jubilee party financier Mary Wambui Mungai who had allegedly gone into hiding over Sh2.2 billion tax evasion case. Kenya has reported 149 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,280 tested in the last 24 hours. Heath CS Mutahi Kagwe said on Monday in a statement that the positivity rate is now at 6.5 per cent. From the cases, 143 are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners. Eighty-one are females and 68 are males. Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) sleuths have nabbed a police officer for receiving a Sh40,000 bribe. The cop, Patrick Ogalla, received the kickback in order to influence the outcome of a public inquiry into the death of a 40-year-old man in Kakamega last year. A man is nursing grave injuries after being caught with another man’s spouse. The 29-year-old victim only identified as Kangechu is said to have met the woman at Barizi bar in Nairobi’s Donholm area at around 9 pm. The Ministry of Health on Saturday announced 202 new Covid-19 infections, from a sample size of 6,312 tested in the last 24 hours. The newly detected cases posted a positivity rate of 3.2 percent. DCI director George Kinoti has raised alarm over increase in number of fake Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) in circulation. According to the sleuth, the number of people with clearance certificates sent to their emails from the DCI has surged in recent days.
