An Orange Democratic Party politician from Kilifi was on Sunday, according to locals arrested for handing out National Resistance Movement (NRM) branded T-shirts. Nicholas Mrima Wanyepe was accused by the police of being in possession of material that could incite the people against the government. Nairobi’s Kayole residents on Friday protested the killing of a garbage collector by the police. While seeking justice for the deceased, the residents blocked roads and engaged the police in running battles. Bonfires were lit in the middle of roads, paralyzing transport for the better part of the morning. The auditor general, Edward Ouko has questioned the manner in which Sh1.2 million was used by Vihiga ward representatives for lunch.
