Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja claims he was offered a whopping Sh1 billion to drop his gubernatorial bid. A police officer caught on camera staggering during the day in Nairobi’s Buruburu area has taken his own life. The unnamed officer is said to have died at the police residential houses in Buruburu. On Wednesday, the National Police Service (NPS) said it had taken note of the video in which the officer appeared drunk. The anti-corruption court in Kisumu has sentenced two government employees who work for the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (Rerec) to six years in prison for fabricating documents four years ago in order to obtain State positions. A Ugandan court has issued orders restraining the government from probing the authenticity of a degree awarded to Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja. This was after Team University, from which the senator obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management (External), moved to court seeking to stop the government from further looking into the legislator’s academic credentials. Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula has vehemently denied any business ties to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. The brewer sent the staff on unpaid leave after it ran out of operational funds.
