Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has obtained orders barring area Woman Rep Kawira Mwangaza from defaming him further pending the hearing and determination of a suit. Justice P.J Otieno on Monday blocked the legislator from associating the county boss with theft, embezzlement or misappropriation of funds. Justice Said Chitembwe wants the court to bar the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) from hearing three petitions filed for his removal. The High Court judge has argued that the video and audio recordings published by former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on his various social media platforms were made without his knowledge and consent. Former Kitui governor Julius Malombe has lost his wife, Edith Malombe. Lucy Wanja left for Saudi Arabia on September 12 for a cleaning job only to return to Kenya in a casket, 10 days later. This was her second attempt at landing a job in the Gulf country. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has sealed airports and border points in search of Purma Holdings Limited director wanted for tax evasion. Arrest warrants were on Monday issued against Mary Wambui Mungai and her daughter Purity Njoki for failing to appear in court in a Sh2.2 billion tax evasion case. The alert was issued to seal the border points, including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), to prevent Wambui, a Jubilee party financier, from leaving the country. A police officer attached to Kabete Police Station on Tuesday fatally shot six people before turning the gun on himself in what has been described as a bizarre incident. Constable Benson Imbatu is said to have taken home with him an AK47 rifle and later picked a quarrel with his girlfriend of three months, Carol Imbatu. Warrants of arrest have been issued against two directors of Purma Holdings Limited after they failed to appear in court on Monday. Mary Wambui Mungai and her daughter, Purity Njoki Mungai, were supposed to appear to answer to charges of unpaid taxes amounting to Sh2.2 billion. 33 Members of the Embu County Assembly will from December 1, 2021 to February 8, 2022 travel to Arusha, Tanzania for a duration of 14 days. For the two weeks, the MCAs will learn good manners and how to woo voters. Kericho county detectives are searching for three men believed to have violently robbed a 21-year-old woman traveling in a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) at around 9 pm. Giant retailer Naivas is in a fresh family tussle over the proceeds from the sale of a minority stake to a consortium of investors. Losers in the primaries will not vie for elective seats as independent candidates, Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu has said. Speaking on Friday in Naivasha, Nderitu said the candidates will be required to declare their position in advance. “There will be a window where if you are a party candidate you cannot cross over to run as an independent,” she said.
