Starehe MP Charles Njagua alias Jaguar has asked Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino for forgiveness over their altercation on Tuesday in Parliament buildings. The two newly elected legislators are said to have exchanged blows at Parliament’s media centre forcing the security officers to intervene. They are said to have fought over Uhuru Kenyatta’s legitimacy in office. NASA leader Raila Odinga has renounced an advert on a local daily calling for the opposition supporters to boycott Safaricom products. The ‘fake’ advert called ‘on all patriots of Kenya to rally around the democratic ideal of non-collusion with companies and institutions implicated’ in robbing Odinga of the Presidency on August 8. The ad also accuses the Jubilee party and Safaricom of trying to bungle another election. The contentious Elections Amendment bill was on Wednesday morning passed by Jubilee legislators, backed by the government. The bill stated among other things that the burden of proof should the election be contested will lie solely on the petitioner, that returning officers will be required to sign the forms 34B or face a five year jail term. The amendments also stated that should there be a dispute between the manual and electronic transmission of results, the manual results will be superior. NASA flag-bearer Raila Odinga has told off his supporters who contributed towards his presidential campaign kitty on paybill number 991444. Speaking on Radio Jambo, Odinga said that the ‘well wishers’ will not get a refund of the money contributed even after his withdrawal from the presidential race. NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga has withdrawn from the October 26 repeat polls as scheduled by the IEBC. Odinga has asked the electoral body to call for fresh elections in 90days as is required by the law. ”Our withdrawal from the election requires the IEBC to cancel the election and to conduct fresh nominations,” Raila said. Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho has told off President Uhuru Kenyatta over the remarks made on Tuesday at the Kongowea Market. President Kenyatta asked the traders not to pay monies for services not rendered by the county government. The governor has however said that his government will still collect taxes from the market traders. Gunmen on Tuesday morning opened fire at Technical University of Mombasa students, killing two female staffers and injuring several students. They are said to have ambushed cars carrying the students into the institution. The driver of the car and two security officers were also injured in the morning incident. The High court on Monday declared former presidential candidate, Cyrus Jirongo bankrupt. Jirongo apparently failed to pay a Sh 700 million debt to the petitioner and businessman, Sammy Kogo. Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) on Monday reported that 37 people died between August 9 and 15, 2017 following the post election protests in some parts of the country. “Except for two cases caused by civilians, the rest were allegedly because of excessive use of force by police,” the ‘Mirage at Dusk’ report stated. “Out of the 126 documented cases of people who were injured, only three constituted cases of civilian-to-civilian confrontation. “Majority of the reported cases were as a result of police aggression towards civilians.” Another 126 sustained injuries, the report further revealed. 35 of the deaths…

The owner of the green Land cruiser that hit three NASA supporters during the anti-IEBC protests along the busy Kenyatta Avenue has been identified. The car is apparently registered under a George Gichumu Muriuki. The car’s registration number is KBQ 609G and was registered on 19 August, 2011. It has been said that the occupants were armed.
