At least 6500 staff seconded to the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) are threatening to down tools over delayed October salaries. In a letter addressed to NMS director-general Mohammed Badi, the Kenya County Government Workers Union wants their members’ salaries paid into their accounts. Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Kilifi’s Kikambala area with a kilogramme of heroin valued at Sh1 million. DCI’s Transnational Organized Crime detectives on Tuesday apprehended Swalehe Yusuf Ahmed and  Suleiman Salim Kaingu who have been trafficking drugs in the guise of engaging in legitimate businesses. There was already tension in Kondele, Kisumu County prior to the arrival of Deputy President William Ruto, Police spokesperson Bruno Shioso has said. In a statement, Mr Shioso noted that the tension was over the alleged distribution of campaign logistical funds amongst locals. Police have in custody two suspects believed to have drugged and stolen from an M-Pesa agent along Kiambu Road. The man of Asian descent was nabbed alongside a woman on Tuesday evening as they crossed over from Uganda to Kenya. A Nairobi court on Monday dismissed an application by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to transfer a property dispute case involving his estranged lover Lilian Nganga to Machakos. The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed an application seeking the recusal of three judges from hearing the BBI Appeal. The petitioner, Isaac Aluochier, wanted Justices Njoki Ndungu, Smokin Wanjala and Mohammed Ibrahim to recuse themselves saying he had filed a petition before Judicial Service Commission (JSC) for their ouster. Six Maranda High School students have been arrested over the night inferno that reduced a dormitory to ashes.
