Raila Odinga, NASA presidential flag bearer,  on Tuesday announced that the Opposition has been enjoined in the Court of Appeal case in which the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is seeking to reverse a High Court ruling on the tallying of presidential polls. IEBC is seeking to reverse the High Court ruling that presidential election results announced at the polling station and constituency levels will be final. Aden Duale, National Assembly Majority Leader, has accused the opposition of denying members of parliament the freedom to choose who is best suited to represent Kenya in the East African Legislative Assembly. The opposition decided to nominate five candidates, instead of 12, from which MPs will elect four into EALA. A water engineer, former rocket scientist, and education innovators were among the finalists for the Royal Academy of Engineering Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation. President Uhuru Kenyatta has made several profitable deals for Kenya during his tour to China. Uhuru who is attending the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in the East Asia economic giant has signed deals worth billions of shillings especially in areas of infrastructure. Senator Johnson Muthama’s estranged first wife Agnes Kavindu was on Monday handed a Jubilee party nomination certificate to run for Machakos Woman Rep. Vodacom South Africa on Monday got a 35% stake in Safaricom from the Vodafone group. In a statement from the two entities, Vodafone will exchange a 35% indirect interest in Safaricom for new ordinary Vodacom shares but will continue to hold a 5% indirect interest in Safaricom, in addition to the interest held through Vodacom. Huawei has announced the donations of modern radio communication system to the police in Kenya. This move is aimed at boosting security. Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i in December 2016, warned that he will deal firmly with school heads ignoring the fees guidelines set by the ministry. Dr Matiang’i maintained that no student should be charged more than what is stipulated in the circular for fees guidelines.
