Kenyans have seven days to collect 164 unclaimed bodies lying at the City mortuary. In a notice on Tuesday, deputy director general Fredrick Oluga said the bodies will be interred by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) after the period lapses. 115 of the bodies are from March to May 2021, while 49 were from November and December of 2020. Murder suspect Jowie Irungu sustained a gunshot wound to his left shoulder after being attacked by thugs, a witness has testified. Dr Lawrence Ochieng on Monday told trial judge Grace Nzioka that the accused person sought medical attention at Nairobi West Hospital on September 21, 2018, at 1.35am. “He came in with a gunshot wound on the left shoulder and reported he sustained those injuries after being assaulted by thugs. The judiciary will set up special courts to deal with cases of hate speech as electioneering year fast approaches. Andrew Mutiso Musau is said to have killed his wife after finding her with her lover at their matrimonial home. Kenya has in the last 24 hours recorded 129 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the country’s case load to 252,628, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said. The new infections are from a sample size of 5,110, recording a positivity rate of 2.5 per cent. The cumulative tests stand at 2,669,467. The Appellate court has finally cleared the way for deputy governor Anne Kananu to be sworn in as Nairobi’s third governor. Jamal Bonaya and Teddy Muriuki went missing on October 6 and were in the company of two others who are yet to be identified.
