Kenya has recorded 95 new cases of Covid-19 from a sample size of 3,334 tested in the last 24 hours, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed. The positivity rate is now at 2.9%. The new statistics bring the total number of infections to 251,152 and cumulative tests so far conducted 2,606,152. In a statement, CS Kagwe said that 86 of the new cases are Kenyans while nine are foreigners, with 56 being males and 39 are females. Kenyan athlete Hosea Mwok Macharinyang is dead. Mwok who represented the country in five world cross-country championships, was found dead at Murkwijit, West Pokot County on Saturday. Between 2006 to 2008, the departed won three consecutive team titles with the country at the World Cross Country Championships. Two families are mourning the loss of their loved ones killed on two separate occasions. According to DCI boss George Kinoti, the deceased were murdered for demanding for their memory cards from their assailants. The most recent incident was reported on Friday night in Nairobi’s Huruma area where a secondary school student was stabbed to death by a friend. The family of Kenya’s first Attorney General Charles Njonjo, has dismissed reports of his demise. In a statement, the family termed the rumours that started circulating on Saturday as “a great exaggeration”. Veteran KBC Swahili news anchor Badi Muhsin, 67, has died. The news anchor passed on on Friday afternoon in Mombasa County. His brother, Hafidh Muhsin, who spoke to KBC said the deceased had lunch and later retired to his room. He never woke up. The widow of late Silas Ita is seeking to be enjoined in a petition filed by Justice Sankale Ole Kantai. A Nairobi court has frozen assets belonging to a former Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) supervisor. The assets valued at Sh192 million are believed to be proceeds of crime. High Court Judge Esther Maina on Thursday barred Jeremiah Kamau Kinyua from selling, transferring or disposing of the properties which are located in Nairobi, Kiambu and Laikipia. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that he played a crucial role in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s appointment to former President Mwai Kibaki’s government. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has denied stalling investigations into the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (KEMSA) saga of 2020. In a statement, Deputy DPP Emily Kamau said the office of the DPP is collaborating with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to conclude the matter. DCI detectives based in Nakuru’s Bahati area are in hot pursuit of a six-man gang that held captive a family for nine hours. A man is nursing grave injuries after leaping from his fourth floor balcony on Wednesday morning. Paul Ochieng jumped from the fourth floor of their apartment located at Afraha in Nakuru Town East after allegedly fatally stabbing his wife, Mary Njeri Kamande, 20, in the chest. “The couple had been engaged in a domestic dispute, which ended in Ochieng stabbing Njeri in the right part of her chest.
