Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) widows and widowers will not receive pension benefits once they remarry or cohabit with others as husband and wife. In rules gazetted by Defence CS Monica Juma and PS Ibrahim Mohamed on September 17, no payments will be made to a widow or widower who abandons children of a deceased KDF soldier. A firm associated with Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki has been ordered to pay a lawyer over Sh2.2 million for wrongful dismissal.
