The High Court on Friday ruled that it lacks the authority to judge aapirants’ integrity issues. The decision was made by a three-judge bench comprising of; David Majanja, Murungi Thande, and Enock Mwota. “Petitions by civil rights bodies and activist Okiya Omutatah are general in nature and have not raised any particular integrity issues,” ruled the judges. The driver of a garbage truck was shot and killed in cold blood on Thursday night along Thika Road. When the event occurred at around 10 p.m., the driver, who was identified by his coworkers as just Maina, was operating a truck that the Kenya National Highway Authority had hired to pick up rubbish. A Kenyan living in the UK is requesting that the court orders his aunt out of a family home in Uthiru, Kiambu, which he claims belongs to his deceased father. Raoul Muchene has filed a lawsuit against his aunt Rachael Mwaura, alleging that she is trying to illegally claim his inheritance. Sports pirating websites have suffered a blow after the High Court issued a permanent injunction compelling internet service providers (ISPs) to block them from infringing on copyrighted material. In November 2019, Multichoice Kenya filed a suit against Safaricom PLC and Jamii Telecom Limited seeking to compel the ISPs to block live sports streaming sites on their networks. A man has been apprehended after he clung to a helicopter’s landing skid in Meru on Wednesday. Police have discovered yet another body in Ngubi Forest, Lari. The body has been identified as Joseph Njau Ng’endo, who was running for Njiru MCA seat in Kasarani, Nairobi. Police have discovered 22 firearms and more than 500 bullets at an office on Wood Avenue in Nairobi’s Kilimani Estate. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has obtained orders freezing Sh18 million belonging to a 30-year-old National Treasury officer. Tracy Njoki Kinge, a Finance Officer at the National Treasury, is accused of embezzling public monies and abusing her position by accepting superfluous and facilitation payments. The anti-corruption commission got an order freezing the funds in her numerous I&M and Cooperative Bank accounts pending the outcome of the investigation. A boda boda rider has been arrested on suspicion of covertly killing his friend and dumping his body in a septic tank as part of a purported ritual sacrifice. The suspect, police said, was apprehended in Nanyuki and transferred to the Wang’uru Police Station for grilling. Three government employees have been arrested by the EACC for assisting the illegal acquisition of public land by private developers.
