Kisumu and its surrounding areas will experience power outage for at least four hours on Thursday, December 31, 2020, Kenya Power has announced. In a public statement, Kenya Power said that it was conducting an “urgent” repair work on the Lessos-Muhoroni-Kisumu line, the reason for the interruptions. “We wish to inform our customers in Kisumu and the surrounding areas that power supply has been interrupted to perform some urgent repair works on the high voltage Lessos-Muhoroni-Kisumu line. Whatsapp is getting a new update that will prevent it from operating on selected phones from January 1 2021. Uganda’s presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been arrested. Wine, who is vying for Presidency through National Unity Platform (NUP) Party was arrested in  Kalangala area, according to a tweet through his official Twitter handle. “Bobi Wine and his entire campaign team arrested in Kalangala! Apple is rumoured to be testing a new iPhone concept with a foldable screen in one of its supply chain units. Jon Prosser of Front Page tech announced that Apple’s Cupertino-based major had  developed a prototype iPhone that has a hinge in the middle. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has withdrawn from Nairobi gubernatorial race, and will instead support any candidate fronted by the ruling Jubilee Party. The Party led by Raila Odinga did not meet the deadline set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to submit names of candidates who would participate in party primaries. Google is reportedly testing a mobile search feature that will give results from Instagram and TikTok videos. The company is developing the feature in response to the popularity of short form videos, giving the results their own carousel among the existing ones. Google had begun testing the feature in its Google discover platform, offering short videos as an option in the personalized tab. Francis Koigo, a man who was filmed being clobbered by traffic police in Pipeline, Nakuru County, now claims he lost Ksh150,000 during the ugly scuffle. Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki now says impeached governors cannot run for elective office. Safaricom will prioritize expanding its 3G and 4G network before rolling out 5G, the telco’s CEO Peter Ndegwa has said.
