The government is set to use at least Ksh40 billion in the construction of Koru-Soin Dam straddling Kisumu and Kericho Counties, up from the previous Ksh20 billion. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is investigating a transaction where a trader received Ksh3.75 million in two tranches from the National Youth Service (NYS) for supplying nothing. In the first instance on December 30, 2019, Emily Nyambura received Ksh1,895,366 from NYS in her Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) account. The money was for alleged supply of bread to the agency. The Central Bank of Kenya is set to use at least Ksh40.4 billion in a period of four months to buy dollars from commercial banks. The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal (PPDT) has reinstated Thirdway Alliance Party secretary general Fredrick Okango who was suspended from the role on January 29.
