Kiira Motors Corporation, a local vehicle manufacturing company in Uganda has conducted a successful 130Km road test for a flagship model city bus ( Kayoola EVS), from Nakasongola to Kampala. The Kayoola EVS is an electric vehicle with a seating capacity of 90 Passengers (49 Seated and 41 Standing), with assistive technology for people with special needs including a special seat and a ramp for easy boarding of people with physical disabilities. Cytonn Asset Managers Limited (CAML), the regulated affiliate of Cytonn Investments, has launched Cytonn High Yield Fund (CHYF), an investment scheme aimed at financing mid to low income housing. CHYF will target assets under management of Ksh30 billion, which shall be used for the development of 6,000 mid to low-income houses. Jumia has closed its shop in Rwanda after six years of operation, days after exiting Tanzanian and Cameroonian market. Cytonn Investments has ranked KCB Group as the most attractive bank in Kenya, in its Q3 2019 Banking Sector Report. Kenya’s second-largest telco Airtel has launched non-expiry data, months after its rival Safaricom launched a similar product. In the new plan, 5MB of data will cost Ksh1, and a Ksh2 call rate across all networks will be applied. Unlike the traditional method, subscribers will not be required to buy data bundles, but will have to subscribe to the service with no conditions, according to the telco. Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has urged his supporters not to take to the streets on Monday to protest his arrest, ahead of his arraignment in court. The National Police Service has sealed off a couple of roads in the Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) ahead of the city governor Mike Sonko’s arraignment on Monday. 11 passengers in a Mandera-bound bus are reported to have been killed by suspected Al-Shabaab terrorists at Kutulo in Wajir. The passengers, reported to be non-locals were aboard a Madina bus which was ambushed by Al-Shabaab between Wargudud and Kutulo area in Kenya’s border town of Wajir. A residential flat with six floors has collapsed with people inside in Tassia estate, Embakasi Ward, Embakasi East Constituency. The number of people trapped inside is yet to be known, but rescue operations are underway. The platform, Mali (wealth), is in the final stages of testing and will allow M-Pesa users to invest and earn a 10 percent annual interest, which will accrue daily.
