Ola Energy (formerly Oilibya) is set to retrench several workers in a voluntary early retirement in a restructuring move. Addressing journalists yesterday, Ola Energy general manager Millicent Onyonyi however did not disclose the number of staffers to be offloaded. “We are not targeting a specific number of staff. It is based on the applications (for voluntary early retirement,” said Ms Onyonyi. Police in Meru are hunting down Joseph Kileru, a 30-year-old businessman who went berserk on Monday and killed anyone in sight. According to reports, the man killed two people before going into hiding, after he was allegedly threatened by a Somali man whom he had killed his camel. The wife, Ms Gasheri, said that Mr Kileru threatened to kill at least 50 people, including his wife and three children, after the alleged owner of the camel visited their shop and threatened him. Bus hailing app companies Little Shuttle and SWVL were on Monday suspended by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) over what it termed as illegal operations. In a statement, NTSA director general Francis Meja said Little Shuttle and SWVL were operating  without the required PSV licenses. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has withdrawn licenses of nine Saccos in Nairobi. Senate’s County Public Accounts and Investments Committee  (CPAIC) has directed Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to arrest Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua for snubbing summons to appear before Senate. A car with four occupants this evening sank into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni Ferry, after the driver reversed midstream leading the car to slide off the ferry. Police have arrested a man in Roysambu with 2.5 kilogrammes of cocaine valued at Ksh9 million, moments after he arrived from Uganda. Alex Opondo had the cocaine wrapped in a packet of soya beans when he was arrested after a tip off from members of the public. Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Sunday morning shot dead four robbery with violence suspects along Juja Road. Two pistols with several rounds of ammunition and four knives were recovered on scene, where two other suspects fled to Kosovo area and are being pursued by the police. A group of 66 refugees and assylum seekers have arrived in Rwanda from Libya, comprising of several unaccompanied minors and single mothers. The group left Misrata Airport in Libya and landed in Kigali International Airport on Thursday evening aboard a chartered plane, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, (UNHCR) in Libya.
