Several high school students were caught on camera going ‘wild’ in what looked like a bush party. In the undated video the students are seen gyrating, with female students ‘grinding’ on the male students. The video is shot in a bushy riverbank, with the students still in their uniform, seemingly yet to reach home after closing school. There is a new betting company in town allegedly operation illegally, Kahawa Tungu has learnt. The company, Neptunbet, has found a way of circumventing normal Mpesa paybill by using a third party payment forwarding/collection solution that automatically via ussd prompts mpesa transaction. The company has no physical address nor local contact number, and do not have an indication of having been licensed by Betting Control and Licencing Board (BCLB) noted anywhere on the website. The Makini Group of Schools is facing a bleak future following a clash between the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of the school and the management, with the former accusing the latter of running down the school. The company which took over the management of the school in May last year, Scholé, is allegedly trying to disband the PTA for advocating for better management. A student from the Mount Kenya University (MKU) was awarded a whooping Ksh269,400 from Igembe South Constituency Development Funds (CDF). The constituency is represented by John Paul Mwirigi, who is the youngest Mp in parliament at the age of 25 and is studying at the same university, pursuing a degree in education. Diageo, a London-based brewery company is set to fire over 100 staffers in its business support centre in Nairobi in cost-cutting moves. Diageo, the parent company to East Africa Breweries Ltd (EABL), is targeting employees at the Diageo Africa Business Service Centre (ABSC), which is set to be shut down and the services outsourced. ABSC runs financial, human resource, supply and sales and marketing services for the company, and is shared among all African countries. On May 18, 2017 former Treasury Permanent Secretary Kamau Thugge authorized a payment amounting to Ksh240 Million to Italian company, CMC di Ravenna, marking the beginning of the infamous Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal. The payment would trigger a series of payments to the company through Intesa Sanpaolo SPA (London office), that led to the loss of over Ksh21 billion without a single job done. Milk and dairy products from Uganda are in the increase, posing a threat to product by Kenyan farmers. In the past one year, it is estimated that the products imported from Uganda have increased by five per cent, indicating that the trend could shoot if not regulated. Cfc Stanbic Bank is set to lay off at least 200 workers in a cost cutting move. According to a notice issued to workers two weeks ago for voluntary retirement plan, the bank cited digitisation as the major reason for the job cuts. Business Daily reports that all permanent and pensionable employees of the bank are eligible for the plan.
