The Kenya Dairy Regulations 2019 stand suspended, the Kenya Dairy Board has announced. This follows a public outcry that sought the suspension of of the regulations, with farmers reading ill plans by Brookside to take over the dairy industry in Kenya. The regulations, if implemented, would have criminalised hawking of raw milk by farmers. The regulations required that farmers sell their milk to recognised processors before it is distributed to the consumer. Kenya Airways (KQ) might soon be flying the 10 of the dreaded Boeing 737 Max 8 jets, even as over fifty countries have grounded the plane model over safety concerns. The national carrier hatched the plan of buying the planes in 2018 at a cost of Ksh120 billion. The government has been able to freeze only Ksh100 million assets from the Ngirita family, which received over Ksh361 million from the National Youth Service (NYS) between November 2015 and April 2018. The rest might never be recovered, as it has emerged that the monies were moved before prosecution began. The New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) announced that it has splashed Ksh1 billion in a modernisation plan of it’s various factories in the country. Among the factories that have received a facelift include Nyahururu, Eldoret and Thika, according to Managing Director Nixon Sigey. Earth tremors were felt countrywide this evening at around 7.20 pm. The tremors were reported first in Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, Mombasa, Nyeri, Makueni counties. According to the USGS, an earthquake hazard programme, the earth tremor was measured at a magnitude of 4.8 and a depth of 9km in Wundanyi which was the epicentre. The incidence happened at Ikonyero village in Lurambi Constituency where the body of the minor was found hanging in the outside bathroom by other children. Two university students were arrested yesterday in the evening after being found in possession of narcotic drugs. The two, Mr Chris Duma Odhiambo aged 22 years and Mr Raymond Mwilo aged 20 years were nabbed after a bus stop in Odda, Moyale, Marsabit County as they tried to board a bus headed for Nairobi.
