Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi found himself on the wrong side with Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) after terming the current judiciary as “inept, corrupt, tribal and politically compromised judiciary”. Uganda’s Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is in hiding after police raided a hotel he was staying in ahead of a concert in Jinja. Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz’s father Abdul Juma Isack, has pleaded with his son to help him, as he is not in good condition health-wise. Kerosene price has gone down by Ksh6.61 while those of super petrol and diesel have decreased by Ksh4.57 and Ksh0.55 respectively in the latest Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) review. Motorists in Nairobi will now pay Ksh113.54 for a litre of super petrol and Ksh112.28 for diesel while kerosene users will part with Ksh105.22. “The prices are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) at 8% in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018,” said ERC in a statement. Detective are looking into the circumstances in which senior managers diverted fuel worth Ksh 300 million meant for Kenya Ports Authority to private stations. The multiplatform broadcast network Kwesé, a subsidiary of Econet, has announced the launch of video-on-demand (VoD) streaming service, Kwesé Play, as the centerpiece in its new Kenyan broadcasting strategy. This comes barely a month after the company announced exit from the Kenyan market, discontinuing some channels on satellite. It has emerged that senior Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) officials have been colluding with an Indian firm to flood the market with fake mark-of-quality stickers which are used to authenticate contraband goods. Liquid Telecom has reached an agreement with CDC Group Plc, UK’s development finance institution, to invest $180 million (Ksh18 billion) with the company. In a statement to newsrooms, the company says that the investment will enable it to expand its broadband connectivity to some of the most underserved communities across the African continent. The Ministry of Petroleum and Mining now says no money was lost in the construction of the Kisumu Oil Jetty for which senior Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) officials are facing charges.
