HP has answered the prayers of many by launching the HP TouchPad which touts the much talked about WebOS. The company seems to be getting the groove back with a device which most of the early reviewers sees as somewhat revolutionary thought sharing much resemblance with Apple’s iPad.

Tweeps are complaining again. Most of the twitter users cant seem to get their timeline to move. For the last 20 minutes, I have not had the chance to get updates on my timeline. Twitter cant tell me that over 1300 friends of mine are not posting any updates. This seems to be another failure by twitter. Users are complaining here.

According to Reuters, Nokia is ending the development of its first MeeGo smartphon, N9-00. The report cites “sources close to the company” . The N9-00 has been rumored to be the full QWERTY Keyboard phone .Nokia is said to be in the process of launching another Meego device at the next week’s Mobile World Congress in Spain.

Dell is looking to have business consumer targeted Tablet computers by the end of the year. This came out in the announcement made yesterday in a post on Dell’s website. The announcement also talked of the new Optiplex, Venue and Streat series. But the most promising battle for the HP’s Slate is the 10 inch Tablet which targets the entreprise consumer. Not much specs have been revealed about the tablet but more is expected to come as companies now does controlled leaks to test waters.

Google has launched the Young Minds competition to reward innovation at a tender age. Young Minds is a space for the young people to share how they are making a positive change in the world through innovative idea. Google expects to find twelve 18-24 year olds who will win a chance to attend a special programme of events and masterclasses held alongside this year’s Zeitgeist 2011 in May. The Young MInds can load their entries  here by March 21st, 2011.

Essar Telecom Kenya (Yu) has signed a deal with Young & Rubicam Brands that consolidates all marketing communications activity behind the yu brand.  Wunderman, a subsidiary of Young & Rubicam Brands has handled yu’s digital advertising presence since it launched two years ago. Speaking at the contract signing event, yu CEO Atul Chaturvedi commented, “We expect to see our brand grow as all our communication efforts will now be consolidated under one group – yu is a young, vibrant brand and we are looking forward to experiencing the expertise that Young & Rubicam brings to the table”.

Samsung Electronics Co. today announced a patent cross-license agreement, under which the companies will license their respective patent portfolios to each other. Specific terms and conditions of the agreement were not disclosed. Over the past several decades, IBM and Samsung have built strong patent portfolios covering a wide range of technologies including semiconductors, telecommunications, visual and mobile communications, software and technology-based services. This cross-licensing agreement enables the two companies to innovate and operate freely while using each other’s patented inventions to help keep pace with sophisticated technology and business demands.

Safaricom has launched a new service that allows M-PESA customers to transfer money from their accounts to a I&M Bank’s Visa Pre-Paid card.The  partnership between Safaricom and I&M Bank was signed at Safaricom headquarters today. M-PESA users will now be able to transfer their M-PESA to the Visa PrePay Safari Card, which is a international Visa card co-branded with I&M Bank.The card named “M-PESA PrePay Safari Card” allows users to load the card via their M-Pesa accounts. You can then shop at supermarkets wordwide and also shop locally but am not sure if I will be able to shop online…

AOL is getting into serious game. What with purchasing all leading new media.The company has just announced that it has purchased one of the world’s most respected blogs, Huffington Post for a fee of $315 Million. AOL also owns Engadget, Techcrunch, Patch.Com and mapquest . The company has been on a spending spree and the big suprise is the acquisition of Huffington Post.
