Police arrested a 79-year-old man who defiled three girls aged 8, 12 and 15 in South Maragoli, Vihiga Sub-County on Saturday. The victims reported that they were defiled by a person well known to them and police officers visited the scene and established that the girls had gone to fetch firewood in the forest when the suspect defiled them. “The suspect who lives alone next to Maragoli Hill Forest was arrested and placed in custody,” police said. A 73-year-old carpenter was attacked and lynched by a mob after he had fatally stabbed a fellow carpenter in an argument over Sh2,000 debt in Koitabut village, Nandi County. The two carpenters, David Kiptoo Songok and Antony Sang had Saturday argued at their workplace over the money. The body of a woman was found in a river after she had been murdered by unknown people in Nyataro, Etago, Kisii County. Police said the body was found in River Gucha long after the murder. The body had a deep cut in the forehead and the back of the head. It also had both its ears chopped off by the assailants. Police are holding at least six suspects in connection with a series of incidents of stealing of mobile phones in Nairobi. This is after assorted stolen mobile phones were recovered from them in an operation. Police said they also recovered Sh614,000 from the suspects which they believe are proceeds of the crime.
