The Jubilee Special National Delegates Convention (NDC) will now be held at the Ngong Racecourse, party leader Uhuru Kenyatta has announced. The retired President in a notice said the details of the NDC remain as announced in an April 29 notice. “Notice is hereby given that the venue of the Jubilee NDC has been moved to Ngong Race Course, Nairobi. Embattled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni and national vice chair David Murathe have been expelled from the party. The EALA MP Kanini Kega faction also suspended Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi for a period of two years. Personal bank accounts belonging to Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Anne Atieno Amadi, as well as her son Brian Ochieng Amadi and two others have been frozen by the High Court. The court on Thursday ordered that no withdrawals be made without approval. The orders came after Ms Amadi, her son, and others were sued by a foreign company dealing in gold. Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) has replaced suspended Managing Director Bernard Njiraini Esther Ngari in an acting capacity. The Kebs board also appointed Bernard Nguyo as acting Director Quality Assurance and Inspection while Zachariah Lukorito was named the acting Director for Standards Development and Trade. Njiraini was among 27 government officials sent packing for aiding the release of expired sugar that was earmarked for destruction in 2018. Embattled Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni says the party has secured two venues for the planned Special National Delegates Convention (NDC). Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihika risk arrest after ignoring summonses by the Senate watchdog committee.
