An M-Pesa attendant was on Friday shot in Nairobi’s Highrise Area as he walked home from work. Mr Jacob Aoko Opati sustained grave injuries after being shot in the stomach and left hand by two gunmen. The gunmen, the victim told the police, robbed him of Sh70,000 shortly after leaving his shop in Soweto area. Kenya’s Taifa 1 satellite has successfully been launched after three failed attempts. The satellite was launched in the USA, California at Vandenberg Air Force Base on Saturday at around 9:44 am. The launch was on Friday delayed 28 seconds before liftoff due to what the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) referred to as “unfavorable upper-level wind conditions that would affect the rocket’s flight trajectory”. Kenya’s Ambassador to Germany Tom Amolo has refuted claims that he has been evicted from his home over rent arrears. The envoy explained that the Kenyan government owns the house in which he resides. “I have seen incredible fiction that I have been evicted from Kenya House, Berlin and that we have not been paid our salaries. The opposition in a letter dated April 14 wants the Hague to investigate nine issues. Due to adverse weather conditions, the launch of Taifa-1, Kenya’s first operational 3U Earth observation satellite, was postponed on Friday, 28 seconds before liftoff. A Space X Falcon-9 rocket owned by Elon Musk was slated to launch the satellite from the Vandenberg Base in California on April 11. It was rescheduled once again due to unfavorable weather. Some of the livestock stolen at the Uhuru Kenyatta-owned Northlands Farm have been returned. According to sources within the police service, at least 18 sheep have so far been returned to the expansive farm that was invaded last month. It is said that individuals believed to be aides attached to two Nairobi politicians have been quietly dropping off the sheep near the farm located in Ruiru. The legislator on Thursday appeared before Milimani senior principal magistrate Esther Kimilu where she pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of tax evasion. Whitepath Company Limited has been Sh5 million by the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner for violating the data protection law. The digital lender is said to have disregarded the enforcement notification dated January 10.
