Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party has suspended vice chairman David Murathe and secretary general Jeremiah Kioni. The party’s National Executive Council (NEC) appointed East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Kanini Kega as secretary general in an acting capacity. The former ruling party also announced that it is set to leave the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party that was formed in 2022, months before the August polls. Ten suspects arrested for defrauding Safaricom Sh449.6 million through its overdraft service, Fuliza, registered thousands of SIM Cards, a court heard. Safarilink airline has admonished Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o after complaining about flight ticket pricing. The US government has issued a warning to its citizens residing in Kenya about a potential terrorist attack in Nairobi. On Thursday, the US embassy warned that terrorist organizations may plan an attack with little to no notice and target populated areas.
